Task 8 - Evaluation of Synthesis
Synthesis
The combing of the constituent elements of separate material or abstract entities into a single or unified entity (opposed to analysis) the separating of any material or abstract entity into its constituent elements.
A complex whole by combining
- Analysed and compared different sources for triangulation and referencing essay.
- Making collages in my visual journal to visually respond to the overarching theme of society and focusing specifically on my own interests of how women are objectified in the media.
- Focused on certain elements of sources that I found most interesting and made them visual.
- Reading articles/books and picking out quotes for my essay resulting in a stronger argument.
- Researching further into 'lad' mags compared to the present day (online pornography) being more accessible and free.
- Focus on what the difference is between nude art forms and pornography.
- Gaining more knowledge in compositional methods that can improve an image such as line of sight and rule of thirds.
- How women have always been objectified in a variation of different art forms (classical paintings through to the media).
- Looking at how different generations have different view points, especially in subjects such as women and sexuality.
- Exploring how the artwork I have used in my image analysis has been viewed and theorised by different people.
